CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture and is also known as a "Vegetable Box" subscription. It is a great way to enjoy fresh local produce all summer long. Each week your prepaid box will contain the best and freshest products we have to offer along with a newsletter full of recipes and information. For the price of one fast food meal per week you can have a box of fresh, healthy fruits and vegetables every week from the beginning of June through the end of September.
By prepaying for your produce you are making an investment in local agriculture. You are supporting responsible farming methods by helping to pay for growing costs upfront. You are buying a “share” in local family farms. In exchange you will receive fresh, ripe, safe and nutritious local produce.
CSA members enjoy foods grown according to the season of the year. Members receive a share of the bounty of the harvest, but also assume the risk of the growing season. They enjoy a direct relationship with the farmer who supplies their food.
CSA Agreement
·For the 2010 season shares will be available first to those who are members of our 2009 CSA, second to those on our waiting list and third on a first come first served basis.
·A non-refundable deposit is required with the remaining balance to be paid in full by April 1, 2010.
·Each week full shares will contain at least 6-8 different fruits, vegetables and/or herbs in quantities to feed a family of three or four people. Half shares will have enough for one or two people. No substitutions may be made.
·Pick up days are Wednesday during store hours from the first week of June through the end of September. Additional pick up times may be announced.
·Members agree to pay fees in a timely manner, pick up boxes on time or make other arrangements and share seasonal weather risks with the growers.
·Fees paid cover the cost of the produce plus labor and overhead for packing the boxes.
·Options to add pre-ordered beef, poultry, dairy and bread may be available.
CSA Sign-Up 2010
___ Full Share $450 for 18 weeks. Non-refundable deposit of $100 with balance due by 4/1/2010.
___ Half Share $225 for 18 weeks. Non-refundable deposit of $50 with balance due by 4/1/2010.
___ Box deposit of $20 due by 6/1/10. Will be refunded at the end of the year if all boxes are returned in good condition. You may also choose to apply your deposit from the previous year to the current year.
___ Egg Share $54 due by 4/1/2010 with a deposit of $10. Receive one dozen eggs each week with your box.
___ Half Egg Share $27 due by 4/1/2010 with a deposit of $5. Receive one half dozen eggs each week with your box.
